If Walls Could Talk, II

Rose M. Singer Center at Riker’s Island and East Harlem, New York. 2012

This mural project was half of a two part mural project. Incarcerated mothers at Riker’s Island painted this mural, that was designed for them by their children. Designed by the children of incarcerated mothers and painted by the mothers inside of Rikers Island, this 54' mural covers the hallway walls outside of the jail’s nursery.

The mothers also designed a project for their children, that the children painted in East Harlem on 118th St. and 1st Ave.

This project was funded 100% by a Kickstarter campaign.
